Pre-Qualifications

Prequalification of environmental services is one element of the Ohio Department of Transportation’s qualifications based selection process. Only consultants who are prequalified are eligible to be selected to work on environmental projects.

ODOT’s "Consultant Prequalification Requirements and Procedures" guidelines give detailed information regarding all of the department’s prequalification disciplines and submittal format and requirements. (Please see Consultant Services’ Website for questions regarding submittal format and required information)

The Office of Environmental Services has identified eleven (11) disciplines requiring prequalification and fall into the categories of environmental document preparation, ecological surveys, wetland mitigation, air and noise analyses, archaeological/history/architectural investigations and ESA screening and remedial design.

These environmental disciplines have specialized documentation requirements and are a part of the interdisciplinary expertise approach to transportation decision making described in ODOT’s transportation process manuals and guidelines.

Included in the Office of Environmental Services’ website are the requirements consultants must meet to become eligible for environmental prequalification approval.
