| DISTRICT 6 | |
|
When District 6 was
ready to replace the bridges on Spring and Long Streets in Columbus, they
wanted to make sure community needs were considered.
Meetings were arranged and attended by citizens and community leaders. The outcome was these bridges with their wide walkways for safety and their unique fencing. |

| DISTRICT 7 | |

District 7 conducted Community Stakeholder Interviews and held a 5th Street Bridge Aesthetics Workshop. The workshop included community members, ODOT representatives, and representatives of Burgess & Niple, the design consultants for the project. From information accumulated at the workshop, the decision was made to design this bridge with a similar character to other City of Dayton river crossing bridges. This treatment is desirable because the 5th Street Bridge is the gateway to historic locations such as the Dunbar House, the Wright Brothers Bicycle Shop, and the National Heritage Park on the west side of river. This
structure is steel beam, with arch facia beams. Piers are modeled after pier designs on bridges up and down
stream. Aesthetic
