What business
opportunities are available with ODOT?
The Department does an
estimated $50 million dollars annually with approximately 300
annual term contracts and one time bids. You may access
a sampling of the goods and services purchased from our
contract listing.
Does registering with ODOT
allow vendors to be notified of all state bid opportunities?
No. Registered vendors
will only be notified of the specific opportunities they
registered for with ODOT. For
vendors interested in other bidding opportunities with the
State, go to the State Purchasing web site.
Do vendors need to be
prequalified to bid with ODOT for goods and services?
No. Vendors are not
required to be prequalified to bid on goods and services for
ODOT.
How do vendors register as
a minority?
To get certified as a
Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) a vendor must contract the
DAS Equal Opportunity Division (MBE). The MBE section
can be contracted at 614-466-8380 or by visiting the web site
at
http://www.state.oh.us/das/Eod/EODMBEOff.htm.
How do vendors get
notified of bids?
Upon registration vendors
will be automatically added to the bid list for the contracts
they registered for. All bids are mailed courier
overnight and are available on ODOT's purchasing website.
Who do vendors contact with bid questions?
The purchasing coordinator
for each bid is listed on the front page of the invitation.
Can bid responses be faxed
by vendors?
No. All bids must be
sealed and received by mail, courier or in person, prior to
11:00am on the bid opening date. The sealed document
must be identified with vendor name, invitation number and
opening date.
Are vendors required to
fill out a Buy Ohio Affidavit?
The buy Ohio affidavit is an
important document and all bidders are encouraged to fill out
this form completely. The Buy Ohio Affidavit can come
into play during the evaluation of a bid. Preference
factors can not be applied if the form is incomplete or not
filled out.
How and when do vendors
obtain bid results?
All bidders are encouraged to
attend bid openings. Upon
completion of the bid opening no bid information will be
disseminated until the bid has been awarded. Upon
awarding the bid the results can be obtained by contacting the
Office of Contracts, Purchasing Section or on the Awarded
Invitations to Bid section of the Purchasing website.
How are vendors notified
of an award?
By letter or purchase order.
Can vendors get added to
an awarded contract (one that has been competitively bid and
awarded)?
No.
What Cooperative
Purchasing opportunities are available?
Cooperative Purchasing
opportunities are available for most goods contracts by ODOT.
Services bids are exempt from the cooperative purchasing
